Baby Waylon went to his first ever Longhorn Cattle Stampede on Friday.
They have a tradition here in the Springs of having a stampede down Tejon Street in downtown as an event leading up to the Pike's Peak or Bust Rodeo next weekend.
Waylon seemed to enjoy it alot which is to say he slept through it...but didn't cry or make any indication he doesn't want to do it again next year. A family tradition already.
We are going with my parents to take Waylon to the Rodeo next weekend. None of us have ever been to a rodeo...they are few and far between in Illinois...so it should be an interesting experience for all of us.
Waylon is going to be our little pilot/cowboy when he grows up...or if he chooses, a male nurse...whatever he wants. ;)

Hey Little Cowboy! That wasn't a stampede! That was your almost Grampa Gary and his cowboy buddies herding his cows from the Searle Ranch! Those are the cows on the ranch that you are gonna get to grow up feedin' and wranglin' and ropin' your self. So just as soon as you're big enough (don't worry, I don't see the circus thing in your future at all!) we'll go out and you can pick out your favorite bull to break to ride in parades! I'm sure by now Daddy is thinking about finding different daycare....don't worry Dad life here on the ranch is gonna be fun!! Yee Haw!

I'm glad you liked them 'cause you're gonna get to grow up feedin', wranglin', and ropin' those very cattle right here on the ranch! When you're big enough (I don't buy the circus story at all!) you can go out and pick your own bull to break to ride in parades! Right now I'm sure Daddy is thinking that you need new daycare...but life here on the ranch is great Dad! Yee Haw!
